VOLUNTEER-LED SHELTER OF THE YEAR

This category celebrates an outstanding volunteer-led shelter, where the majority of leadership and operations are carried out by dedicated volunteers. These shelters demonstrate what a passionate, committed team of volunteers can achieve, often with minimal paid staff, while delivering exceptional care to rescue dogs, cats, and other animals.

Perhaps your shelter relies on volunteers to manage day-to-day operations, coordinate rescues and adoptions, or run community outreach programs. We want to recognise those shelters where volunteers go above and beyond, demonstrating remarkable dedication, innovation, and compassion.

Please note: to be eligible, at least 75% of the people who run or manage the shelter must be volunteers rather than paid staff. This category must be nominated by a member of staff from the shelter itself.
